The person I dealt with at the Avis desk presented a diagram of the vehicle with one damage point marked on it for me to sign. I then insisted that I look at the car before signing, the agent then advised I should sign it first then inspect the vehicle (I obviously didn't do this). I then inspected the vehicle finding 3 or 4 additional points of damage.
