I had the most upsetting experience at the Harvard square office. My car was budget but the man who “helped” me was wearing an Avis shirt. I pulled into the garage which is super low clearance and small and there was a car that was sort of slowly backing up. I've never had a less pleasant Avis experience. It took a little over 2 hours to get through a line of 12 people in front of me on an average weekday. The employees at the desk had zero sense of urgency and took an impressive amount of time with each customer. I missed two non-refundable reservations elsewhere because they were so nonchalant about getting through the line and I was late, not to mention 2.5 hours of my reservation were paid but unusable. If you rent here, get there several hours early.

The cars are fine and the location is convenient, but be prepared to wait ages in line. The people working the desk take SO long with each person. There is no option to bypass the line and just go straight to your car, even if prepaid or you have status. I’d recommend renting from somewhere else, especially if you value your time.

We waited for awhile upon arrival, as no one was at the desk. The person who checked us in was rude and unhelpful. The car we received REEKED of marijuana and had garbage inside the glove box which made us fairly certain it was not cleaned between renters..
