I want to say maybe the folks at this location when I rented were having a bad day and let this go, but when you are in customer service, the least you can do is at least apologize and be nice. I went to pick up a car. I asked if I could use tap pay to use the card for payment. The person in charge, who he claimed his name to be as Edmund (Jul 19, ~8:30am) said they don't accept tay pay. I have rented with Achilles for about 2 years now and he has always been extremely helpful. This is the best Avis location I have come across where the staff is very willing to answer questions patiently and cars are very clean and always in a good condition!

My second time renting from this location, and all went well until I received an email receipt showing a refueling charge. I had filled the tank across the street at the Shell station just before returning it. When I dropped it off, the gentleman at the counter asked if it was full, and I told him it was. Now, 10 days later, I just wasted 37 minutes on the phone with Avis to get the erroneous charge refunded.

I made a reservation so the process of picking up my car was very efficient. The customer service was helpful and patient with my requests. Not too mention, they have a good selection of cars and they’re pretty well maintained!

I’ve been a regular customer at this Avis location since Sonny and Achilles started working here and a customer of theirs at the cap hill location before it was closed down. Between the two locations I’ve probably had around 40-50 rentals and have experienced pretty much everything there is to experience as a rental car customer (left behind items, late returns, early returns, non-cooperation from Avis customer service when dealing with disputed charges etc.) and these guys have gone above and beyond for me every single time... read more
