Rented a car for three days while in Ithaca. A week later I received a bill for an additional week of rental. It took Avis three months to refund the charge even though I showed them my boarding pass when I left Ithaca. No apology or compensation for their screw up. Don't trust Avis. I don't know if the receiving employee went joy riding for a week or if they just didn't check in the car.

Paid for a reservation and then they said they were out of cars. Asked them if someone cancels can we take that spot. They said you need a reservation. Came full circle with no car and a credit card charge to dispute. Which I’ll have plenty of time to do since I’m stranded 5 hours from home

The "employee" Steve double charged us as the card used to reserve the car was in the wrecked car. Never had a problem at any other rental agency with this issue before, as the website took it and reserved the car no problem. Fine, we'll use another card, but refund the previous transaction. That was a hard no from Steve, who then told us he's not corporate, so it is now our problem and our responsibility to get our refund. I have received nothing but top teir guest service from the young lady who manages the Ithaca Avis location. As a longtime preferred member, I always feel welcome. Like a guest instead of a customer.
