We rented a car from Avis at the airport. It ended up having some issues and the Lahaina location exchanged it for us and gave us a really nice vehicle. Highly recommend!
After being sent to the Avis in Kaanapali for a mistake the airport Avis made (because it was closer) we were accosted and attacked by the “local owner who does not answer to Avis”—screamed at and not accommodated despite confirmation from Avis that they had a car for us. We were polite and calm and the woman was yelling and cursing that she doesn’t answer to Avis and to get off the property or she would call the police!
Returned my car on the date and time it was due back. They never returned it in their system and two days later charged me an additional $1,200 to extend the rental. I have tried calling the location throughout the last two days and cannot get an answer. Avis customer service says it’ll take 5 to 10 business days to see a refund or the hold released.
