BEWARE: I was charged $78 extra upon return, the rep did not send me the bill when I asked. I had to contact the Avis corporate office to request the bill. Upon review, there was a deceptively labeled "miscellaneous" charge on the bill. When I asked why we were charged extra, I was first told there was vomit in the car upon return. When I stated no one had vomited in the car and my husband and I were the only ones in the vehicle, I was then told there had been a dog in the vehicle. We don't even own a dog. Hard to describe. Manager was gruff, not very friendly. Facility was dirty. Was not given any paperwork. Used it because it was cheap. Car was fine. Was told we had to detail it before returning or we would be charged $450. Funny thing is there was a sign on the front counter saying “It does not cost anything to be nice.”

Nash, staff at Avis in Key Largo, saved our trip ! We had a very difficult time with Enterprise and were provided with a huge truck, not what we were supposed to get. After 3 days of no success in getting a smaller vehicle, we went to Avis/Budget and Nash was so helpful, got us what we wanted right away and was very pleasant also. BTW: It seems like many places in KL are understaffed. Shout out for Nash for great work under difficult circumstances.

Never have I experienced a more disrespectful and unprofessional encounter trying to rent a car. Nash was who “helped” me. Not only did he know nothing, he told me to leave and would not let me rent a car AFTER already making a reservation for a compact. Only to be told by Nash they didn’t have my car and and needed to spend extra for an suv. Ended up ruining our trip to the keys. Will not be going back.
