Had a reservation for a vehicle at the Lafayette, Louisiana location at the Lafayette airport, waited in line for over an hour to simply pick up my car. Employees behind the counter seem clueless and were not helpful at all. I called into the customer line and they said they had no way to assist whatsoever, and to talk to the people at the desk I was already dealing with! Horrible service. It’s ridiculous the wait time just to get the keys for a rental car plus they ALWAYS charged you for gas.
Updated review - Avis reached out to me and I was very much impressed with their response. They do care about their customers and I am happy to say that I will be using Avis in the future as my rental car of choice. I reserved a car at 1:59 pm on Monday. I canceled the same reservation at 4:46 pm less than 3 hours later and had to agree to a $150 cancellation fee. Less than 3 hours.
