DO NOT go here— or use Avis Car Rental AT ALL if you can help it. when me and my travel party picked up our reserved car after landing at Hobby, we got into the car and it smelled like weed. bad. we asked the lady inside if there were any other cars available and she told us no. whatever- that’s fine. we figured we would roll down the windows and the smell out dissipate. it did not. somehow it was as if the smell got stronger (we theorized maybe the weed smell was happening with the air conditioning??). we didn’t use the air... read more

I am a President’s Club member, which they say “guarantees” you a vehicle as long as it’s booked 24hrs in advance. I have not been able to get a vehicle in over a year. They say “you have to have a reservation 24hrs in advance”. Well, I try weeks in advance and it won’t let me make a reservation because “no cars are available”. So basically, if cars are already available, when you don’t need the “guarantee” you get a car....just like anyone who isn’t presidents club would. First, every other car rental operation at the airport had a shuttle. Avis did not. After 2 calls, one of which I got hung up on, a shuttle finally arrived (about 45 mins later). When got to the rental area, even tho I had prepaid for a car weeks before, they gave the car away. In fact they had “no cars available” according to the woman working.
