I am a long time Avis member even after corporate travel days. My recent experience at Oakland airport rental was less than pleasing. I decided to try the mystery car selection hoping that I would be surprised. I would be ok with almost any car but they really throw me a curve ball. They gave me a Mercedes EQB electric vehicle and the app would t let me exchange for a different car. Second issue, somehow a lot ants found there way onto the car. Avis seems to purposely make the experience horrible to get people to pay for their subscription. The customer service reps are great but working for a bad company
We got a letter stating that we would be charged $125 for the vehicle needing to be cleaned. We reached out to the branch but could never get anyone on the phone. Finally over email cust service sent us photos of the car. It was a minimal amount of sand that would come up in a typical vacuuming. We continued to email but got no where. Now my husband is getting calls from a collection agency saying that we owe the $125. It hasn't even been 2 weeks and we never even got a bill, just a notice. Can someone please help us? This Avis is going to be the reason I no longer rent from Avis aftering booking 60 cars a years
Absolutely never again will I use this company. I was told my rental was 750$ for 6 days but if I used less I would be charged less. I turned the car in after 5 days. First I was charged $1,164. The. I called and waited on hold for about 35 minutes and they told me to leave a message for a call back. The I get an email saying the charges would be 900$ so I called back again and ultimately was told "sorry whoever told you it would be 750$ was wrong because you had a week rate but turned it in early making it a regular rate so... read more
