I was routed to central reservation, booked a car, received a confirmation #, showed up at the airport office & they said reservation was cancelled, no car available. They said central reservation has no way of knowing inventory at the local office. Fortunately I didn't pay over the phone. Bad experience.

Wally was rude and unprofessional on 8/28. He sent me off in a vehicle with the check engine light on and refused to help me even when I said I didn’t feel safe. He told me I could “go across the street to Uncle Ed and get an oil change yourself if you want.” He was rude and rolling his eyes from the moment he approached me. Not to mention that before he came to me he was in the back office with a friend (not a coworker) and police officer who I heard giving them a warning. This is a shady desk with shady employees.

Do not go to this Avis at the Kalamazoo airport. Avis used to be my go-to rental company, but this one location is making me rethink that. They tried to give me a car with bald tires, a windshield that has cracks, and a wobble sound when driving. They initially said they had no other cars except the parking lot was full. The second car they gave me still had tires that were not great, and the steering wheel was visibly misaligned. It was drivable, and I had to get going so I took it.
