Never use this car rental company (Avis ILM),we made a of a reservation (2 weeks ahead of time) for a mini van. We arrive to pick it up, they informed us they just rented/gave our rental to someone else (we passed the people while walking up to the counter on the breeze way). Then proceeded to tell us they have no more of the vehicle types we reserved and there was nothing they could do.

I made a reservation for last night at the ILM airport, I also am an Avis priority member through my Amex Platinum card. I called and did the reservation over the phone and confirm that although the flight was getting in at 1130 pm that I would still be able to pick up a car before the counter closed at midnight. The confirmed over the phone and also took down my flight info to include time, airline, and flight number. I also utilized the pay now option to ensure there would be a vehicle. The vehicle I received smelled bad and was FILTHY inside and out. I couldn't even use the cup holders because they were so disgusting (seemed like the previous renter spilled a sugary drink, it dried, and now was collecting dirt). They clearly did not clean the vehicle and certainly didn't sanitize it in between renters.
