I booked a car online for 5 days. I booked it through Orbitz, Expedia, and Avis because the total cost of the rental came to $45.48, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a computer glitch. All 3 sites allowed me too book it for this price. I printed all my confirmations and had the confirmation info in my phone. When I arrived to pickup my car, after flying into Des Moines from Phila PA, i was told that it was an error and I would have to pay around $220 for my rental. Ok, let first say that this was my third time renting from this Avis. And before this rental, I very easily could have given them four out of five stars. I would never give them five out of five because the customer service has always been questionable. But, the vehicles have always been so nice. This place SAVED our vacation! I had an excellent verbal (first mistake...always get an email verification apparently) quote for a car through Hertz for 22 days and when I arrived to pick it up they tried to charge me 4 times the price!!! Gratefully I found Avis and they got me a nicer car than I had planned through Hertz, and even an upgrade from our reservation with Avis when we were frantically trying to find a rental car, and it ended up being only $73 more than I had budged for our trip. Omar quickly solved our difficult issue needing a specific vehicle sooner that it was available from the KCI Mother Ship. We needed a 7 passenger van at 12:30 p.m. and the only one available was at KCI. We could have that one at 3:30 but that would have meant we would not get to our destination until 2:00 a.m. instead of 11:30 p.m. Omar called to see what vehicle his district manager was driving. From the reservation, to the estimated price at the counter, to the pick-up (free upgrade too), to the drop-off, and finally the final price ($40 lower than estimated), the customer service was second-to-none. The location is also convenient (right near the turnpike). The car was in great shape and was very pleasant/easy to drive. I will definitely use this Avis again if I need a car in the area again. At 5:30PM Friday night I found out I needed a rental for a weekend trip out of town. I first called Enterprise, who said they had a car for me, then called me when I was on my way to tell me sorry, no car after all. At this point it's 6PM. Thankfully Avis is open until 7PM, Omar answered my call and said YES, we have a car, come on over. Fast service, friendly service, low prices, and great car!! I will be using Avis from now on.
Been here several times, always got great service, some people just like to complain about anything.
