Vehicles tires did not meet Georgia state law for minimum tire depth. Major hail damage over entire vehicle ( Cadillac Escalade) , missing front fog light and both rear tires leaked air requiring daily air fills. I called the corporate customer service number and they advised me to bring it to Savannah airport which I did. Once at Savannah airport the counter clerk said they can’t take vehicles that preexisting damage or issues. I didn’t even intend to rent from Avis, but the Budget counter was empty, and I was forced to deal with Avis staff. The experience was frustrating from the start — long lines, rude management, and a total lack of accountability. The manager was condescending, dismissive, and argumentative, refusing to honor my credit card and military discounts because I had used Priceline, and assigning me a van against my wishes. BEWARE: I travel frequently into Savannah and am a Hertz Platinum member. Received a business opportunity to try Avis Presidents Club through AMEX and Founders Card. Suprise Surprise!! Avis website doesn't work, gives constant errors when attempting for days to "Modify" the reservation. Calling the Savannah location was A MASSIVE MISTAKE!! Extremely rude, incompetent, yelling at you that "You're within 3 days - You can't just up and change your reservation now without the extra charges." This is ABSOLUTELY poor poor customer... read more
This has got to be the worse car rental experience. Reserved a van and paid in advance, the line was 1.5 hour! It was so long that everyone in line struck up conversations about bad this service is. After over an hour wait to check in, wait another 30 minutes to get the keys to the van. At the sight of relief, I saw how bald the tires were and told the agent but she said there’s nothing she can do. Bald tires are outright dangerous for road trips down i95. Look at the picture of the tires!
