As an Avis Preferred customer, I expected better. Pick-up in Tampa was slow, and the car turned out to have a wheel issue on the drive to Orlando. Avis agreed to exchange it—but only if I drove 45 minutes each way to the airport! I’m on holiday, so losing two hours for a fault not mine is unacceptable. They even suggested sending a tow truck instead of delivering a replacement. Really poor service from a brand that charges premium prices.

(original post was Tampa) Wish I could still give 4 stars.. would give zero if I could... tried charging us for a faulty vehicle because it had to be towed?? Wipers came on, would not go off, started to scratch the windshield. Called Avis, they had no solution so we pulled the fuse. I had reserved a Lincoln Navigator for pickup on 10/10/2025. I arrived at the airport and went to go pick up the rental car. I got to the counter and they informed me that they did not have the car I had reserved almost two months prior and did not have anything that could seat more than 5 people. We had six in our group, so that would not work. I asked if we could just get two standard cars instead and they refused.
