Our vehicle was scheduled for 8am pick up. Im currently typing this as I wait at 10am. Apparently the van was not ready as it was new. The check in counter representative was very polite. We waited there for the van for a long time as it was being prepared for us. Once he received a call it was ready we then proceeded to the garage only to find out it was not ready. We were told to wait, it is currently 51 degrees outside as we wait in this garage. I will not use this avis again for any business purposes.

On September 4, 2025, I flew from Houston Intercontinental Airport to Richmond, VA for my sister’s husband funeral. I was tired and grieving. I proceeded to the Avis Rental Car Counter to rent a car and was informed that because I did not have a credit card in my name, I would have to pay additional costs to use my debit card. I didn’t mind paying additional deposit of $350 but I was also charged for insurance coverage even though I explained to the Avis Employee that my personal car insurance out cover the rental car but sh... read more

I wish I could give them ZERO stars. After waiting in a disastrous line we were told to make our way to the garage to pick up our vehicle because we had preregistered online. Once in the garage we were told to go back to airport because we were not Avis “preferred”. Two members of our group were handicapped so moving back and forth between the two locations was not easy. No apologies, nothing but rudeness. I will NEVER rent from Avis again.

*UPDATE* I emailed the social team like they replied below. No response. I've sent messages to the location through the Lost Ticket submission AS INSTRUCTED BY CUSTOMER SUPPORT... no response. Phone number still doesn't work no surprise. If anyone is reading this don't forget things in the car. It's easier to find a needle in a haystack than coordinate this. Hinter uns ist sofort die Tür verschlossen worden. Sagt einiges über die Gegend in Chicago aus. Der Service war schell. Jeep Cherokee gebucht, Kia bekommen. Die Abgabe im Flughafen Richmond war etwas kundenspezifisch und aalglatt. Schnell raus und goodbye.
