I had a pleasant experience with my student stylist Maria. She was friendly & asked what I liked and disliked about my hair. Then she gave me suggestions and I ended up with a very good cut. I definitely will be back for another haircut.

I've come here regularly for years, however, over the past 6-8 months, even with advanced booking, I've been called and canceled or rearranged with students less than the talent requested. Then they can only book you another MONTH out or tell you to come in and see if anyone cancels. The past few times the students have been so lazy and only want to do the bare minimum of the appointment even after knowing I've been rescheduled and in one instance rescheduled more than once. I understand this is a school and they're learning but seems the classes in customer service are severely lacking and the instructors are of little help in that area. My daughter Shania Smith just graduated after a year in their program. She loved it and her passion has grown so much! I’m glad she was able to find her passion and learn the skills she’ll need thanks to Aveda.

We just had a follow up consultation after the first lighten and tone...they flat out refused to lighten any further, and said they would not be able to get what my daughter wanted. They listened to the expectations we were given, and then said their student wanted to try so they let her. It is very frustrating and disappointing that none of this was explained at the time of the original service. I was given a price, signed the paper, and was then charged an additional $30, which they explained was a deal considering what they used. Just graduated from Aveda and honestly my feelings are mixed about the school and my experience in general. On the good side, my teachers were great, LOVED my classmates and I also love what Aveda is about. BUT, the downsides kind of ruined it for me. The administration team (SPECIFICALLY Trisha Dowling and Brandy) are extremely unprofessional, absolutely play favorites (ex. Punishing some and not others for same incident), you MUST be on top of your own hours because mistakes are made on a daily basis and they don't always give you hours that you've earned, the staff showed a complete lack of understanding when it comes to ADA laws for disabilities, not only did they misunderstand, they dis...  more>>
