I have been to the Avalon Lodge many times as a caregiver, with different clients. They always have activities for the residence to participate in, or just to sit and visit with one another. The staff are lovely and very helpful.
I have been thankful for the care my mother has had at the Avalon but never more than this past weekend. My mother had just gotten over the worst of her RSV symptoms and I was hoping we’d be able to celebrate her 86th birthday soon. Unfortunately when I talked to her I learned that the PSW who had helped her with her bath that day had discovered she likely had Shingles. I felt very badly for Mom. She was just getting better. Avalon Retirement Lodge is the only place that my mom toured and said it felt like home so she stayed. I agree wholeheartedly. The staff are very dedicated and some of the most compassionate and caring people I have ever met! The home feels like a big family.
