First off let me say thanks to the old Avalon back when John H owned it and it was a family and the team work was awesome everybody got along and John knew every staff member and resident by name. He treated the residents like they were his mother, father, and grandparents. Don't work here if you have a backbone and a brain. One RN supervisor didn't send a full code patient out, and she died. Then...he asked the staff to lie about it. And he is still there. And the day the heat went out when it was going to be 17 degrees that night. Called the administrator about it and he replied..."is it really that bad?" The woman who fell on a night shift....she hit her face so hard the she broke her dentures WHEN THEY WERE IN HER MOUTH, and one of her teeth bounced so far and landed in the bedside commode.... read more

First, I am a retired RN and I know what I am talking about and I say stay away from here if you can! I am only 59 and was in a car accident and broke my lumbar spine and my sternum. I had to come here for physical & occupational therapy, which is the about the only good thing about the place: Pete, Maggie, Joe, etc are excellent and run a great department. !!! Oh and most of the aides were very nice, especially since they are working shorthanded 75% of the time. My experience here was just horrible. So horrible, I am writin... read more
