I'm an amateur luthier who started building guitars in 2021, and most sets of tonewood I've used has come from David at Australian Guitar Timbers. My first build featured Camphor Laurel back and sides with a Silver Quandong top. My second was a Master Grade Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides with a Bunya Pine top. My favourite build so far has been New Guinea Rosewood back and sides paired with a Lutz Spruce top. I have bought several sets of acoustic soundboards from David and each has been absolutely top quality, perfect moisture levels and a joy to work with. David has supplied conventional species such Tas Blackwood and Red Cedar as well as some more exotic species like Camphor Laurel and Narra. My unusual designs respond well to these fine timbers. Great job David, keep up the good work.
I have sourced guitar timbers from David for 3 years now and have always been amazed at the quality and readiness for construction of my instruments these have been. Always top notch.
Awesome place Geoff and boys were great very welcoming and even got a tour of the establishment to see the whole process of how they bake the cake! If you are ever looking for a handmade guitar this is well worth the visit!
