My 10 year old received a cheque for winning a contest. The cheque was from someone who is an ATB customer. I made an appointment to open a bank account so that he could deposit the cheque and told them my son’s age on the phone. He was so excited. When we got there, we were told that you have to be 13 to open an account. So no money and no account. Looks like we will be banking in Whitecourt.

This branch needs to change their Friday hours posted on the front door and online to 4:00pm instead of 5:00pm. I understand long weekends people want to close up early, but when people arrive at 4:18pm on a Friday and the staff are inside with doors locked already, it’s extremely frustrating.
