Leading up to the passing of my Nan, nurses continuously called her by the wrong name instead of calling her by her preferred name. If someone wants to be referred to as their preferred name they should be called that. I am a daughter-in-law and want to give credit where credit is due. After cyclone Gabrielle I changed my perspective on Atawhai. Mark the Manager did an exceptional job, especially under the unexpected circumstances and with little warning like all of us, to keep all residence safe. Thank you for taking care of George, during the difficult time. Atawhai had generators and all meals provided for and other generous gestures to help the village residence have a sense of normalcy.
