This is a clean facility with helpful staff who seem to genuinely care. Our family member is very happy here.
I cannot say enough good things about Astral at Auburn. My mother has been a resident there for several months now, and the difference in her is truly remarkable. Before she came to Astral she had some health issues that the doctor said would never get better... in fact, would only get worse. But those issues have gotten so much better that Mom is back to the way she was when she was much younger. I credit the staff and programs at Astral for the change! Recent observations, specifically within the Memory Care Unit, indicate a systemic failure to meet basic standards of care and resident dignity. I. Clinical Safety and Nursing Oversight The facility is currently operating under what appears to be an unsafe staffing. On a recent evening visit: Absence of Nursing Staff: There was no licensed nurse present in the building. Hesitant to leave reviews due to the fact that they called me to ask if I knew the individual that left a 1 star review that spoke truths about the facility that were damaging. Two reviews left by family members have been removed as well as one currently still posted they have responded that a person has been speaking with the family that we have never heard of… this also speaks about the integrity of this facility. My grandma’s experience here was horrible. She was a beautiful woman who was always clean and full of life. We would come see her and her room was dirty, she wasn’t kept clean and they would let her sit in wet pants. I watched my grandma become a person that no longer smiled , did not look like the same person and was a shell of the person she used to be. It was very sad to watch.
