Was told I had 6 weeks to close out/roll over my CD but had to do it in person (I was out of town when it matured). Turns out that was misinformation, I had 10 days and could've done it over the phone. Money automatically rolled oveer into a much lower interest CD with an extremely high penalty to remove it (despite having someone at the location misinform me, it wasn't waved). What a disappointment. I have been an Associated Bank customer since I was 15 (now 50). I work full time and brought my 11 year old son in on Saturday to open a savings account. We arrived at 11:37 and were told it would “take too long” to open the account and were turned away. They close at noon. I don’t know how long it actually takes to fill out a few forms and deposit $40, but my son’s first experience with banking left him feeling like his business wasn’t wanted. Really sad. Unethical to charge $7 monthly maintenance fee for hsa account. Will never use this bank again. Highway robbery.
