I have joined First Federal Bank in 1999 and have been a satisfied customer for over 5 years. This is the worst bank ever. I have had a mortgage with the bank that originated nearly 15 years ago. I lost my job simultaneous with my mortgage needing to be refinanced and they increased my interest rate to over 8%, increasing my payment by more than \$200.00 a month. It broke my bank account. Unemployed, I went through all my savings just to pay the mortgage and daily living expenses. This bank nickel and dimes you for everything. Lose your ATM card and its 5.00 to replace it. I am changing banks. 12 years and the last 2 have been the worst. I would tell anyone looking for a bank not to bother with Associated. I should have changed it a year ago, but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Yeah well I could kick myself. I can say a word to them, when you change policies every other month, you should hold a meeting so the staff knows it. Cause its like watching little kids run with scissors dealing with this bank.
i joined first federal before it switched over to associates and i have not been pleased with my experience. there are fees for using the atms associated with the bank and fees also for checking your balance. then there is never enough time to take care of an overdraft. not even 2 days. when it was first federal they worked with there customers to keep their customers happy but not associates. so i am going to change banks as soon as i find one with really free checking.
