If you are reading this, you know and understand how emotional it is to place a loved one outside of their respective home. 2 days ago we as a family had made this kind of decision for our 90 yr. Old mom. She lived in the home dad and her purchased 67 yrs. ago. They raised 3 children it was the only home she has known. Our loved one resided at the Aspire Oshkosh facility for a period of time, and unfortunately, our experience was one of sheer disillusionment. The attractive building and surrounding grounds provide a misleading visual impression as once we experienced the inner workings within the facility over time, we arrived at a vastly different opinion. i’ve been living here for eight months and I love it. The staff is phenomenal and the environment and the activities. Keep us as busy as we wanna be and it’s very dog friendly my dogs love it too.
My mother in law is in the place currently. MC UNIT, We put her here because everything appeared up and up. However my wife has to be there 6 to 8hrs per day, THIS IS now taking time away from our autistic son, they don't follow care plans, she had to file a police report last night on her mother's stolen meds that the nurse cart person did not give her, lie about POA requesting a PRN, the facility don't believe family and put her right back on the med cart.
