Love this space, the people there, the collection and the artist and curator Fidel. Well crafted and maintained art is there. Go check it out.
Fidel’s art studio is absolutely breathtaking - he is so passionate about his work and you can feel the love in the studio when you walk in. Fidel will be a friend for life. Someone you definitely want to meet in this life and absolutely want a piece of his art in your home to radiate you life and space!
Artspace 8 is one of the coolest galleries on Chicago’s magnificent mile. You can easily miss it because it’s in the Bloomingdale building at 900 N. Michigan Ave. I am originally from Chicago but have lived elsewhere for some years. I randomly stopped by the gallery shortly after it had closed and the owner was so accommodating. Doors were locked I tried dropping in around 3pm. Hours are wrong? EDIT: re: owner's multi-paragraph response. I never attempted calling, nor did I know to visit their website. All they needed was a sign on the locked doors that stated that appointments are recommended and to provide contact details. I simply was looking for any open art galleries while visiting Chicago and this was one of them.
