I just picked up two antique rocking chairs from Arte Lepre that had been stored in such a way that they were very damaged. I didn’t have much hope for them, but since this restoration business had such positive reviews, I took them to see if they could be fixed. I am so pleased that they look even better than I imagined, and have a whole new life to them! Fabio explained ahead of time the work he would do, and it was no simple or quick fix. We brought in an old family rocking chair and Fabio lovingly restored it, sanding it by hand and refinishing it very carefully. He talked us through every step, explained our options and made thoughtful recommendations, and did beautiful work. An important bonus for us was that his process did not use toxic products to either strip or finish, so we could feel great about bringing it back to a home with kids.
Excellent service, results and communication. Three of our pieces (two of which are antiques; one Biedermeier and the other Victorian) were damaged in a recent move. Fabio, the owner of Arte Lepre, came to visit us to assess the damage and quoted in a very timely fashion. Once we gave the go-ahead to repair the pieces, he completed the work within two weeks (fairly substantial repairs) and brought the pieces back to the house. Fabio did a wonderful job repairing a small piece of folk art I own. It was easily manageable, so I took it to his workshop, and met his father, visiting from Naples. Fabio is the real deal, and a wonder with wood.
