I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but what my father went through at this facility still haunts both of us. I’m sharing this because no family should ever have to experience the pain, fear, and frustration we went through. Food & Care: I would take him food because the food was awful—breakfast was the only meal he could tolerate at times, while lunch and dinner were sometimes so bad he could barely eat. Finding Ms. Magana by chance at our hospital was the best thing that could have happened for my mom. Mom got sick, had stopped eating completely, and was barely able to get out of bed. The hospital was going to discharge her with in-home nurse visits only and no therapy. Fortunately, I ran into Ms. Magana (Liz) in the lobby and we ended up talking about my mom's situation.
