Bad news. Down Hill. Had not been to this store since it relocated. Knowing that a small local fish store does not income a lot of money I forgave that the parking lot was a giant mud hole and the outside of the building looked crappy, I know its the inside that counts. But inside was not looking much better. Selection of both Fresh and salt water fish was very limited, and some of the freshwater fish in multiple tanks looked sickly and malnourished. I tried a few of the big box pet stores, but never had any luck. The prices were high and the employees weren't that knowledgeable. If you go to Seacave, you should talk to Steve. He has years of experience in the business and can make anything into an aquarium.
We traveled all over the state, looking for someone to handle our complex install. We decided on Steve and were very satisfied. His store is clean and his prices are very reasonable. Many people buy online, but you aren't going to find healthy fish at reasonable prices. He gets regular shipments and always has a nice variety of equipment and fish.
Saw this store's website and took a trip down to Akron. It was well worth the trip, clean store with nice fish and supplies.
The store is very clean. His prices are very reasonable. I only paid 15 dollars for HUGE pajama cardinals.
DO not shop at this store they lie to you Steven Mills is a lier and not responsible to buyers .. BEWARE hes RUDE and does not have you'r best enterest in you'r fish !! he will sell anything just to make money he old fish that he knew would kill mine, even after he sold me on his 27 years of experience in fish! I repeatedly asked him will this fish get along withg the ones I own already.. and when the fish I bought Killed ones I already owned he hung the phone up and wants to make no retribution to me with the loss he made h... read more
I have been in and bought several items from the sea cave... all of the supplies around the price of other lfs... but his fish prices are insane... but that is not the worst part. on one visit Steve made made my girlfriend walk out crying when he insulated her intelligence... she is graduating pre-med in three years... all because she asked if she could buy a fish in a show tank. he is also ALWAYS drinking alcohol when we enter the store. but his last asinine offence is when I bought something from his store then shipped it ... read more
My boyfriend and I used to buy fish from here frequently. My boyfriend needed new lights for his biocube and wasn't sure which ones to get, so the owner said if the ones he was looking at didn't fit he could bring them back. So we purchased them. When we got back to our house we realized they were not the right lights. So we immediately called him and he said to bring them back and and he would order the right ones. We took them back a couple days later but the lights were not in so he said he would call when he got them in.... read more
You gotta check this place out! All you need is right here...from salt water to education. The owner, Steve, has made this business his life's work and it shows from his vast knowledge to the enthusiasm in which he shares it. He doesn't just sell you fish and supplies,he also does what ever it takes to help you to be a successful aquarium enthusiast. It has taken me a couple of years (I'm a slow learner, as I don't always follow instructions well), but I finally have a salt water tank to be proud of. Thanks Steve!
