I too had a horrible experience interning here. The owner was kind, and so was this girl named Sofia. I, however, was treated terribly by a woman named Barbara--which is a shame because I was a young kid with a lot of potential. I was hardworking and motivated to learn and to be a part of a team. My time interning at Apropo was a riveting and unforgettable experience. The entire team consisted of incredibly kind and talented individuals. It was quite a special experience to work so closely with such compassionate and seasoned fashion-professionals. My favorite part of the internship was learning under Barbara Serlin. Interning at Apropo Studio was such a great experience! I learned so many things about the fashion industry from merchandising and selling luxury brands to general hospitality and customer service. I worked specifically with Barbara who’s one of the sellers at the studio. I learned so much from her and had such a great experience I ended up staying and working as her assistant. I was interning at Apropo for three months and it was one of the best experiences in my life. Since this was my first internship, I was overwhelmed at the beginning but Apropo’s best team made it possible for me to learn, feel comfortable and experience the real beauty of fashion. I feel lucky that I got to meet amazing team of Apropo and I wish them the best of luck!

I've now worked in media full-time for over three years, but my first internship was at this studio when I moved to NY. They are by far the worst when it comes to treating interns. Working an eight hour shift unpaid is one thing, but an internship shouldn't be just washing dishes. It's taking advantage. Not to mention, taking even a short break for coffee or lunch was frowned upon and reacted to as a "hurry back." Hopefully, they do better now.
