We have been coming to Applewood for a year now and have been a part of group and private sessions as well as holiday workshops. We love the natural approach to the mental and emotional support we get. Mel is so passionate about developing and supporting mental health and wellbeing through equine assisted learning, sharing her knowledge and insight on how to read and care for horses. Mel worked with my stepchild for several months doing the horse wisdom program. Mel provided a wonderful space for my teen to develop their skills caring for horses, reading body language, and building their confidence and leadership. Mel was always patient and caring, and provided the perfect balance of being student lead as well as encouraging them to challenge themselves.
My 8-year-old daughter has been benefiting from equine therapy with Mel for quite a while now. Mel's support has been invaluable, both in group sessions and one-on-one. She has developed a fantastic rapport with my daughter, which is evident in her weekly excitement and eagerness to discuss the tailored activities Mel designs to meet her specific needs and interests.
