Short staffed most of the time. Too many aides working 16 hour shifts. Very few activities,. Was told that the automatic withdraw would be canceled, and my bank account would not be charged in January since my Dad moved out in December, and my account was charged. I was told it could take up to a month to get reimbursed! it shouldn't have been taken out in the first place! My dad was not happy there and I am definitely not happy with the mediocre care he received while he was staying at Brookdale.
RecommendedMy grandma lived at this Atria location and my family loved it. The staff was always friendly and helpful. My grandma loved all the activities, especially poker, bingo, and exercise. They would go out to lunch weekly and grandma really looked forward to those trips. The care staff was always quick to respond and very pleasant.

Be WEARY of Brookdale West End. The staff are terrific ( in spite of the tyranny of the charge nurse), but the facility is unfortunately, poorly managed. 1. Residents who are hospitalized and absent from the residence are by contract, supposed to be credited back their time away after the first 15 days. They DO NOT automatically credit you. You have to physically REMIND them, even though THEY called 911 and are aware of a resident’s absence. Only then you may receive credit in the next couple of months. 2. RecommendedI lived at Atria for 3+ years and was very happy there. I would recommend it to anyone. The only reason I left was because of a change in my family I had to move to another state. I am living in a senior living home in the state where I live now but I really miss Atria.
RecommendedI cannot say enough good things about this facility! My father, who has dementia, lives here, and they provide excellent care, love, and quality of living for him. Marie Branham, the resident services director there, is as good as they come. She takes care of the needs of the residents, cares about and knows each one, and relates to family members in such a comforting and caring way. The RSAs are on top of it! RecommendedEverything. My Mother was at Atria Springdale ...It was wonderful...staff was amazing... surroundings were beautiful .... if you can't remain in your home then this is the next best place to be living. Conda Prell Puckett
