Neat tunnel going thru the mountain, One way traffic so wait your turn you’ll be directed to go, Whittier is a cute little tiny town with one main building everyone lives in
5 star experience but 0 stars for cell phone reception!! You're telling me we can hold a conversation with astronauts in space, but we cannot have a cell phone tower strong enough to get a signal?! I call bs Make sure to make all calls BEFORE THE FIRST SHORT TUNNEL, after that you'll have no way of contacting anyone until you pass through the 2.5 mi tunnel into Whittier!! With AT&T I was able to receive and send calls from the main Seward hwy, not from the road to Whittier.
Tunnel is lots of fun, pretty unique driving experience, you feel like you're driving a train. Schedule is 15 minutes one way, then 15 minutes break, then 15 minutes the other way and so on.
