My mother has recently gone into care here. When I met the manager she was very honest with me about previous issues and the CQC assessment of requiring improvement but she has now taken over and is actively working towards quality of care and I take that at face value. This is evidenced by the CQC last assessment in Nov 2023 where the majority of the areas being assessed are now good. My mother had been a resident here for three years until her recent death. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. I have read other reviews and I must say that I find some of the comments very disturbing.There have been a lot of changes in recent months and they have all been enhancing the lives of the residents. I visited my mum on a regular basis and was always made to feel welcome. I was always informed of her medical needs and during her end of life care I was telephoned to keep me informed. I should've wrote this ages ago but didn't get round to it. My agency at the time sent me there twice after the first time I begged them not to send me back. I was literally doing the agency a favour the second time. I wasn't made to feel welcome by the staff at all. The first thing I noticed was the stench and the residents did not appear to be in a hygienic state.
