Uncomfortable experience which made us leave. My partner was asked on the spot what he'd pay for an item. The owner put a $200 price just there by picking it up and looking at it with no research on the work. As an arts registrar, this is the side of the industry that gives it a bad name. Put a price on each piece and let the patrons negotiate if they feel compelled to - don't do the price hike and haggle. 2 stars because the items were actually quite lovely but overpriced.
You are guaranteed a unique shopping experience. After I said I wasn't sure what I'd pay for an item, he showed me the door and said 'all the best'. Tolerable otherwise.
DO NOT SHOP HERE. I had the worst experience at this store and would never return. The owner made me feel unwelcome by questioning what I would pay for an item, as if to gauge my knowledge of antiques and my ability to spend. He then blocked me from accessing another aisle and rudely said, “I have stuff to do out back, so it’s best you go; I’m resting the alarm.” This behaviour was incredibly rude and elitist.
