contacted the enquiry line today in order to set up a payment plan with regards to a debt that I have incurred. This is the second occasion that I have contacted them seeking advice on paying a debt and both times have been met by a representative with absolute minimal customer service, compassion or understanding. While I do not use my mental health as an excuse, it is an issue that I struggle with daily, their staff are definitely not trained nor do they have the ability to speak with people like myself who are only worrie... read more

Just to be clear, clamping a car and demanding a card payment to release it isn't illegal BUT does break Visa and Mastercard payment terminal rules. A payment terminal must NOT be used to collect payments made under duress or coercion. If this happens, you can contact your bank and ask for a chargeback. If everyone does a chargeback they could lose their ability to take card payments... such a shame!
