We can't give them any stars. We took in train equipment and model cars to sell and Bob accepted everything and said he would have to inventory everything and get back to us. We waited several months without hearing anything and then started making calls. We were told for some time Bob was on vacation. We never received an inventory. Repeated calls over a year's time in 2016 finally led to a settlement without any itemization. There was no professionalism in any contact with anyone we contacted and we finally just gave in an... read more

Business response:

We did not generally accept consignment lots without written inventories for exactly this reason. I have no records of this transaction even though they say they received a settlement payment. If they were unhappy with the transaction where have they been for the past three years? We maintained a retail store until it was closed on January 26,2019.

After anticipating the trip to "An Affair With Trains" we came away completely disappointed. Upon walking through the door there was NO greeting. We were made to feel as if we were intruding on their privacy. It was like pulling teeth to get information. Many of our questions could not be answered, items we were looking for they did not have and when we asked for 22 pieces of road bed, we were asked if we just wanted a full case of 25. We did agree to the full case but were still charged for EACH individual piece. No break. ... read more

I should have read the reviews BEFORE I went to the store! The owner of the store is very disrespectful fat no neck beast. He speaks to you like your the jerk. I went there an told them I had $1000.00 to spend on some trains. They sold me a set that they don't even carry parts for. They wouldn't turn on the model train in the store for my children to enjoy. They act as if you have to beg them for service! Wouldn't recommend this store unless you want abuse. Trainworld.com is 17% cheaper, and that's where they order from when... read more

Business response:

We placed a special order for a train set even though it is a brand we don't carry at this customer's request. When it arrived, he was upset that additional items would also have to be ordered. As the owner, I got involved when one of my clerks complained about this customer's language and demeanor. After speaking with him briefly, I gave him a full refund in cash. I guess he didn't think I was polite enough about taking a $100 loss on the special order. We do, however, agree that he "will never return"
