I have worked with Al before and they are a fantastic therapist! While not only personable, they are very knowledgable in treating complex eating disorders. Al is an expert in LGBTQ+ and gender topics and is wonderful to consult with. Highly recommend Al!
I feel really supported and seen by this practice. They do lean toward yogic principles, but they are discerning about when it's useful and appropriate — it really doesn't come up unless I invite it into the conversation, and then Julie is great at meeting me there. The office sends quarterly check-in surveys and they are very flexible with scheduling and talking to you like a person in between sessions, where other practices I've experienced have been a lot more clinical. My daughter went to Neathery Thurmond for an eating disorder. While Neathery helped somewhat with that issue, she pushed her own personal agenda on my daughter. Making suggestions and recommendations that had nothing to do with her eating disorder. I met with her and my daughter once, and did not feel comfortable. My daughter told me that Neathery blamed me for her problems and encouraged her to not have a relationship with me!
