We moved my mother to Amica for a one-month trial stay, hoping she would find a warm, engaging, supportive community. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. At nearly $10 000 for the minimum 31 day trial stay ( before additional charges) which ended up to be 32 days as the trial ended on a Sunday and no movers were available till the next day, we expected a much higher level of care and attention. My wife needed hospice care for 2 months at AMICA Westboro Park. During that time the AMICA staff took over my wife’s médications and managed her pills through CareRX. At the end of the stay I payed a bill in excess of $26000 without question. Two months later I received a bill from CareRX for $166.89 and at that point I hadn’t even heard of CareRX. I called AMICA to say that surely I had amply paid for our stay but they never got back to me. I paid the $166.89 but I was annoyed. My conclusion is be careful with costs. If yo... read more
