ELEVATORS DO NOT WORK!! The elevators at Amica Lions Gate have been not working consistently for ONE YEAR. So, the residents that have been living in "dependant care" have had a significant negative impact on their quality of lives as they literally cannot get off their floors easily. (They have to somehow get to the other side of the building, and use those elevators. Most of the people living in "dependant care" are physically challenged which makes this option nearly impossible). If we could easily move our mum out of Ami... read more
My dad was here for a year and a half and he commented every time he spoke with me about how kind and caring the staff were. They were always cheerful dealing with him and are all amazing people. I always felt comforted knowing he was in such good hands.
My mom moved in to Amica Lions Gate about 6 months ago. The staff were very sensitive to her transition from independent living. She was not used to having so much attention and although it was nice to have people caring for her it did take a little while for her to get used to that. All the staff have continued to be wonderful and caring. She's fortunate to not have a lot of complex medical needs but Dr. Barre does see her at times in the facility and the nurses station always sends a report afterwards keeping me informed o... read more
