The apartments were not updated.Management of the apartment itself is good,however, the Contracted-third-party medical team Influenced my decision-About this facility. They call themselves medical and there’s nothing medical about them. Very rude, not professional. If this facility contract with a new medical company, It would definitely be an upgrade. I moved my mom from another assisted living that was closing. Administrator Kristy was very supportive and welcoming with moving and settling my mom into American House Westland Joy. The staff are extremely supportive to both residents and family. I’ve observed the building and my mom’s room to be kept clean and maintained well. I’ve observed frequent offered activities, along with engagement and attentiveness by staff. Residents, including my mom, seem to enjoy living at American House Westland Joy.
My mother has lived here for three years and I must say I’ve had nothing but the best experience. My mother has made so many friends since her arrival. The staff at American House & The Medical Team feel like our family. Kristy and Amber have made many changes since their arrival and I see an improvement in the building as well as the happiness of the community. I will update this review when some final things are handled, but I would not recommend this place. All the people saying the staff is compassionate and caring is a joke. It’s a ploy to get you in there & once your loved one is, you will never see some of these staff members again. And if your loved one dies, don’t expect anybody to reach out or care! And if you’re expecting BASIC care at a MINIMUM from the med team, you will be very disappointed. I will update this review with details soon! BEWARE!
The staff is wonderful ! They really care for the residence. The Kitchen staff, front office staff and Medical team are kind and go out of their way to make life there fun and happy! Chef Tiffany cooks yummy pork chops with sweet potatoes, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and many other dishes.
