I had an absolutely wonderful experience at American House Westland Joy! From the moment I arrived, Executive Director Kristy and Community Relations Director Amber made me feel welcomed and supported. Amber provided a fantastic tour, complete with a delicious lunch and entertainment that truly showcased the warm, vibrant atmosphere of the community. When my parents first moved here one year ago, it was great management and everything else after a new management took over the building fell to pieces. It has not been kept up maintenance. Takes a long time to answer maintenance request. On Thanksgiving I had one burner to use because her burner went out again after being replaced it was 65° in that apartment when I came in and instead of calling maintenance, they offered a very small space heater that was supposed to work for both of them. I cannot begin to explain how AMAZING everyone is, so let me start from the beginning. I received a tour from a nice pleasant woman named Gail. Gail gave me a beautiful in depth tour around American House, but in all honesty. She did more than that. Gail showed me what a future home for my mother looked liked and I am not disappointed 1 bit. Absolutely cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The staff is absolutely amazing, from the cleaning people, to the activities and especially Kristy and Amber in the office. Anything I need they are more than willing to help me. The food could use a little improvements but other than that I am so grateful I chose this place for my mom.
I came to American house to tour for my mother. The place was clean and smelled great and Kristy and Amber were both very knowledgeable on my tour. I would recommend this community hands down.
