I am very surprised by the negative reviews of Aloha Rent A Car. We just returned from a Maui cycling vacation and were extremely pleased with our rental experience. They worked hard with us to find a van large enough to accommodate four bikes and four passengers (they even removed the third row of seats when we arrived to pick it up to give us more room). We had the worst rental car experience ever. The car sounded like the wheels were going to fall off when you got to 40 mph. I called and came back to the location a few times during our trip and was told "sorry" our mechanic is not in today and "sorry: we have no other car for you. I had a person in a wheelchair and felt so unsafe driving this car anywhere other than a few milesfrom where we were staying which was 45 minutes from the rental place. The online promise of a "clean" Jeep was not was we got. The Jeep was not even washed before we picked it up in the aiport parking lot ) they were closed when we arrived on the island) It was very dirty, sandy and the top was ripped in several places. What is expected and explained online is not what what you get!
Aloha Rent A Car is very unreliable. Thier online reservations do not really reserve a car for you. I had made an online reservation and they sent back a confirmation email of my reservation. Two weeks later they called and said they would not have a car for me. This was a week before my trip and I lost my chance at finding good price.
