Everything arrived unbroken! Our movers were nice guys and they were the same guys who drove across the country and unloaded. Very expensive but I guess that’s just the going rate. The guys disassembled and reassembled our beds so we had a place to sleep that same night. We paid almost $18k to move a 3 bedroom house from Maryland to California.
Of all the moves we have made over many years, this was absolutely the most unprofessional and devastating damage to almost 100% of everything transported. Daughter was never provided a day of loading invoice identifying each item being moved. At delivery time is when they provided a list that had been manufactured at a warehouse identifying any supposed previous damage. I requested a moving quote through Allied Van Lines’ website, and shortly afterward began receiving a high volume of automated calls, sometimes up to 25 in a single day. The calls were silent when answered, and voicemails left were identical and unhelpful. I hadn’t signed up for ongoing contact or services, and this felt intrusive and excessive. We chose Central Van and Storage (Allied Van Lines) to move our household 350 miles from WV to VA. They were professional, efficient and very flexible with our requests during the entire process. We would definitely recommend this company for long distance moving!
I have not had the opportunity to examine my items in storage for damage completely but the moving experience was overall accomplished smoothly at a reasonable cost.
