Prior to today had considered it one of my favorite locally owned shoe stores. Today I innocently attempted to return a pair of women's Hokas for my wife with the intent of purchasing a different style. I was immediately greeted by a male sales clerk working the register with "You could at the very least clean the soles of the shoes!" in a harsh and defiant/dismissive tone. Extraordinary service, excellent selection of all major brands, very competitive prices. What a great alternative to generic shopping experience at the malls!!!
An excellent, full-service shoe store. The shoes aren't cheap, but they're high quality, and they have a huge clearance section on the top floor. When I was pregnant with swollen, aching feet, the salesman took almost an hour to help me find the right pair of shoes, and never lost patience or his sense of humor. He even told me that in the future when my feet were no longer swollen, I could bring the shoes in to be "tightened" at no charge. Three years later, I'm still wearing the shoes. Highly recommended. My entire family has been going to Alec's Shoe for many years now, and will continue to do so. They carry the latest styles and trends, and you can do all your shoe shopping there from dress shoes to hiking boots with everything in between. The service is excellent, all sales associates are knowledgeable, and if they do not have an item in your size, they will order it for you.
Has good sales on SAS shoes. The only place I can take my mother.
The main reason I like this place, is that there are employees who actually bring you your shoes and fit them to your feet. They spend time with you to help you get the correct fit. Another reason is, they have such a wonderful selection of my favorite brands.
Not the right size! A salesperson measured my 3 yr old's feet (without his feet being on the floor). They told me that my son was a size 10. Stride Rite told me 10.5 & that's what my son was already wearing. I have never seen anyone measure feet without the person standing up with their feet flat on the floor.
