Wow, we stumbled on a hidden gem. Walking in felt like a museum—every piece had a story and so much history behind it. The collection is just incredible, ranging from the 17th to 19th centuries, everything feels more like art than just furniture. Albert was fantastic. I tip my hat to the owner of this establishment, for taking an important step in the on-going revitalization of Springfield Ave. Albert Joseph took over an abandoned bakery, and transformed it into a sleek & modern furniture/art gallery that holds its own against any of the high-end (and high priced) stores that you find in upscale neighborhoods like SoHo or Tribeca. My husband and I had been shopping for furniture for months. Then, after eating lunch at a Diner on Springfield Ave in Maplewood, we stumbled upon this "gem" of a furniture store. The owner, his name is Albert, greeted us warmly and spent the next two hours patiently showing us all his unique products, and explaining with proud detail, the stories behind each item. Bottom line: excellent customer service, superior products, outstanding selection, and fair prices.
