Aaquila is wonderful! This is my second time bringing clothing to her for alterations and repairs - she went through each piece with me, giving advice for alterations and taking measurements. My experience at her shop for several sari blouse fabrics that needed tailoring was disappointing. Upon pickup, I discovered missing loops, fabric tearing, and poor fitting on the body indicating poor quality control. Despite requesting proper sizing adjustments, particularly for one readymade blouse I purchased from her, only the chest area was altered, leaving other areas oversized. This is a hidden gem in Albany, NY! My husband and I were in need of tailoring services on a tight turnaround and this business owner exceeded our expectations. Her services were affordable, $65 for the two items combined, yet her experience is evident. We felt welcomed and at ease leaving her shop. She even offered a tutorial after hearing I had difficulty removing the salwar top. Thanks so much for helping us look the part for our cousin’s wedding.
Akhila did a beautiful job stitching blouses and a petticoat for my silk wedding saree. She works quickly and does an incredible job. Everything fit perfectly. I will be sure to recommend her to any friends in the Capital District looking for Indian clothing or alterations!
