Absolutely lovely visit with this long time musher and Alaskan with WI roots. Mary Shields is a treasure.
Mary is an incredible individual who has accomplished amazing things. She goes out of her way to share her experience with you. A must do in my opinion
My son and I visited with Mary, her beautiful dogs and then - puppies in 2016 in the summer time, and we never have forgotten it. She shares of her remarkable life, treats in her beautiful home, and introductions to her faithful dogs. Over three years have passed and I still think of her often. Her kindness, the inspiration of her life - her gifts as a seamstress, her beautiful home and the way she arrived in Alaska, (her yummy cookies!!) and the tour around her land. Mary, we thank you!
