Beautiful Alaska. Wet and cold, but wouldn't be Alaska without a drop rain. Enjoyable and informative visit.
Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking scenery, seeing bears in their natural setting was such an emotional experience for me. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We had few amazing spotters (tourists) in our group that made it much easier to photograph the bears. Amy our tour guide well informed, and such a good soul. Boardwalk was overall in good shape, a bit slippery in the rain despite having hiking boots on. They had donut and panini in the cafe, both were ok. Charlotte and Basil were our guides. They were both great friendly and knowledgeable. We saw heaps of black bear including a mum with 2 cubs, loads of salmon and harbour seals. Our tour was on 22/09/25 , highly recommend it.
Lexi had a terrible attitude. She spoke to a group of 27 people as if we were babies who didn't understand. She said she didn't want to "babysit" a group of 27 people like a sergeant. You go on vacation to enjoy yourself, not to put up with their behavior. Obviously, we know bears are wild animals. But I could have had a better experience without that pseudo-guide's bad manners. She wasn't doing us any favor. We paid, and the least I ask for is a good attitude toward tourists.
What a great experience. Our guides, Justine & Basil, were incredibly knowledgeable & really made the trip experience. We were incredibly lucky to see mamma bear & 2 cubs & it was almost as if they had booked them to perform!! So very special. It was also really interesting learning about the totem poles & being able to ask Kevin questions about the history of this art. Despite the very wet weather we had the best time & were grateful for the additional waterproofing provided!!
