The car I rented was clean and acceptable, except it needed windshield washer fluid. Other than that, it drove real well and was a comfortable drive.
As a German, I always book my rental cars with Alamo and am thoroughly satisfied. Why? Unlike in the US, car insurance in Germany is tied to the vehicle rather than the driver; consequently, you need the full insurance package when renting a car in the States.
